Ways to get cheaper USMLE books

When people face the difficult test of studying for the USMLE, they also face the financial burden of a hefty application fee and several books and resources that are certainly quite expensive. I have owned a lot of books for the USMLE, and I estimate that I could have saved a lot of money if I knew then what I know now.

There are several places to buy new books. Buying them online is certainly cheaper than going to your local bookstore. The problem is that even online some tiny books can cost quite a bit when you add up all the books that you have to buy.

If I had to buy books today I would definitely buy used books. Two places that I would recommend are: Amazon has an area where you can buy used USMLE books. They have a feedback system, and the books are assigned a condition based on how they look. I have bought several books through Amazon MarketPlace, and they are very reliable. You are buying from a third party, but still I have not had any problems with them. Their prices are better than buying brand-new books, and if you want you can buy books that are not in the best shape, but you won't be needing them for too long, right ? Plus, you could resell them after you used them, at the same place you got them. A second good resource is still Ebay. They also have a lot of material, and certainly you can get almost everything if you search properly. One catch with both of these resources is to always look at how much shipping is going to cost. Sometimes buying a new book is cheaper just because they offer free shipping

Try the Amazon MarketPlace and Ebay. I assure you that it will work well and save you some money.
