Residency hours: more research

More research was published regarding restricting medical residents hours. An article published on Annals of Internal Medicine reveals no mortality benefit for patients whose medical residents had worked less hours.

Previously, a Harvard study published in the NEJM clearly revealed a mortality benefit when residents worked less hours per week.

The debate is still open, but the tendency is to restrict hours to even less than 80 hours per week.
